- The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement's (BOEMRE) Alaska Region accepted comments through December 23, 2010, on Shell Offshore Inc.'s 2010 – Beaufort Sea Regional Exploration Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan (ODPCP) and associated information on blowout scenario and containment required under NTL 2010-06. This information, along with the BOEMRE independent assessment of the worst case discharge volume for the proposed Sivulliq N well is available at [click here]. The approved ODPCP, applies to the region for which Shell has applied for a permit to drill an exploratory well next summer in Sivulliq N, located 12 miles north of Flaxman Island. Comments addressed the application of the ODPCP to drilling at the Sivulliq location.

2011 Project
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement's (BOEMRE) Alaska Region has initiated a Supplemental Environmental Assessment (EA) addressing Shell's October, 2010 revisions to its 2010 Outer Continental Shelf Lease Exploration Plan Camden Bay, Alaska dated June 2009. Shell's revised plan contemplates exploration activities in the 2011 open-water season. The Supplemental EA will augment the existing environmental analysis of the 2010 plan.
